Waking to a noise in a dark room is a bad way to start a day. In this one the light comes up before the alarm does, so on most mornings the sound never has to happen.

How the morning goes

You set the alarm, and you set how long the light should take getting there — anywhere from ten minutes to a full hour.

  • The ramp starts. The dome comes on at the lowest of twenty brightness steps.
  • Through the ramp. It climbs step by step, so the room is already light by the time the alarm is due.
  • At the alarm. If you are still asleep, one of seven tones. Nine-minute snooze if you need it.

If you find you are still waking to sound rather than to light, lengthen the ramp. Thirty minutes is a sensible place to start.

The other end of the night

The same unit handles falling asleep. Thirty sounds — white noise, rain, fire, waves — and a sleep timer set to 15, 30, 60, 90, 120 or 180 minutes, so it switches itself off instead of playing until morning. Twelve ambient colours for the hour before bed, and a clock face you can dim until the room is properly dark.

What it doesn't ask of you

No app, no account, no wi-fi, no pairing, no subscription. Everything is set on the unit itself. It runs on USB-C, and the coin battery inside does one job — keeping the clock set when you unplug it.

Questions people ask first

I sleep through everything. Will light alone wake me?

You are not trading your alarm for a light. The sunrise runs in front of the alarm, and the alarm still goes off — seven tones, nine-minute snooze. On the mornings the light works you are up before it; on the mornings it doesn't, nothing is lost.

Does it need an app, an account or wi-fi?

No. Alarm, ramp length, sound and brightness are all set on the unit. Plug in the USB-C cable and it works.

Will the display keep me awake?

The clock face dims down through twenty steps, and can be switched off entirely. The alarm still runs with the display dark.

If it doesn't suit you — 30 days, and we pay the return

Thirty days from the day it arrives. Write to us through the contact page and we send a prepaid return label, so you are not paying to send it back, and we refund the full price of the product. It needs to come back unused and in its packaging — the full terms are in the refund policy.

Not a medical device. Contains a coin battery for clock memory — keep away from children.
